Ways To Fall Asleep

If you have trouble enough sleeping at home in your own bed most nights, imagine how difficult it can be to fall asleep fast in a car. Yet there are times when you might need to be able to go to sleep on a car journey. If there is no other option then, here are some tips on ways to fall asleep in a car.

1. Take a pillow with you. If you don’t, you will find your head flopping around all over the place. A pillow will help keep your head anchored in one position and stop this happening.

2. You will need to move your body around until you find a comfortable position to sleep in. This could be mean leaning to your left or right side in the seat. If you are tall, you will need enough leg space so that you do not feel cramped.

3. Next comes the problem of actually getting to sleep. Here you will need to have a few tricks up your sleeve, or even be a bit creative. Try your favourite strategies to help you to get off to sleep as quickly as possible. This could be counting sheep, forwards or backwards.

You could try concentrating on one part of your body at a time, then making an effort to relax that body part. Some people start with the toes and work up to the head when using this technique.

Or you could try listening to a sleep mp3.

Some people seem to have no trouble falling asleep in a car, while others find it near impossible. I fall into the latter category. One of the best ways to fall asleep in a car, is to prepare yourself with as many sleep aids as you can, and hope for the best.
